Regulations for Renting and Operating E-Scooters in NYC:

• No valid driver's license is required.
• Minimum age to ride independently is 16 years old. Riders under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
• Helmets are mandatory for riders aged 16 and 17, but optional for those 18 and older.
• E-scooters are allowed in bike lanes and on streets with speed limits of 30 mph or less, but not on sidewalks.

Age Restriction: Riders must be at least 16 years old to ride independently. Children under 16 can ride with a parent or guardian.

Where to Ride an Electric Scooter in NYC: Since April 2020, electric scooters are permitted in New York City. They can be used in bike lanes and on roads with speed limits up to 25 MPH, but not on sidewalks.

Riding in Central Park: Enjoy the scenic views of Central Park on an electric scooter, which can be ridden on the same paths as regular bicycles.

Delivery: How It Works

At a Hotel:

Empire Mobility Scooter can drop off your scooter/wheelchair at the hotel bell desk the evening before your rental date or on the day of your rental, if the hotel allows. If you haven't checked in yet, we can leave your scooter/wheelchair at the bell desk under your hotel reservation name, and you can pick it up when you arrive. Please include your hotel reservation name in the “Delivery note” section of the checkout form.

If your hotel does not allow vendors to leave rental scooters/wheelchairs, we will contact you to arrange an in-person drop-off of your scooter/wheelchair rental.

At a Residence or an Airbnb:

We can deliver your rentals to any residence within our delivery area. If you're unsure whether your address is within our delivery range, just fill out the delivery address in the reservation form, and we will let you know if we can deliver to your location.

We might drop off your scooter/wheelchair the evening before your rental starts or on the morning of your rental start date. If an evening drop-off doesn't work for you, you can choose to have the scooter/wheelchair delivered on the morning of your rental start date. Please indicate your preference in the "Delivery note" section on the reservation form, and we will try our best to accommodate.
